The leader in enterprise cloud data management Informatica recently acquired data integration company Compact Solutions.
Informatica enables businesses to intelligibly find as well as manage big data with a solid underpinning of unified metadata. Metadata is an extremely crucial component for cataloging data. This translates to an effective digital transformation, primarily driven by data.
Informatica’s Enterprise Data Catalog is powered by AI, and Compact Solutions’ metadata scanners are highly advanced. With these tools getting integrated, customers will be able to do what no one else can in the metadata integration realm.
Compact Solutions was founded in 2003 while Informatica started its operations a decade before, in 1993.
“With these capabilities, our customers can benefit from the most comprehensive metadata repository to drive successful data-driven business transformations that support all of their key use cases and various strategic corporate initiatives.
For example, customers can use these scanners to support enterprise data governance and regulatory compliance, impact analysis, advanced analytics and data science workloads, as well as cloud data lake and data warehouse modernization”, said Gaurav Pathak, the VP of Product Management at Informatica in an interview.
This acquisition will allow Informatica to expand its leadership in the AI-powered and metadata-driven automation. Lately, the data-lake platform Qubole also declared an enhanced integration with Informatica’s CLAIRE-powered Data Engineering Integration.
