If you’re fed up with the unsolicited replies you get on Twitter- there’s good news! Twitter has rolled out a new feature that allows every user to limit who can respond to their tweets.

If you’re okay with receiving replies from everyone, you can still go for it. But, you will have three additional options of restricting it to people you follow, people you mention or receiving no replies at all.
But, this doesn’t mean those people you restricted can’t see your tweet anymore. They will still have the option to like and retweet it. Only the reply option will be greyed out for them.
Speaking at CES 2020 in Las Vegas earlier this year, Twitter’s director of product management, Suzanne Xie explained that Twitter was testing this feature, and the insights from the experiment would be used to launch it globally in a few months.

The microblogging platform took this step to help people do away with abuse and spam in the replies they receive. This will also allow users to express their views freely, without the nuisance created by trolls or hurtful/abusive replies. Now, the conversation stays on track on Twitter!
